On December 31, Vienna Old Town will again be transformed into a gigantic party zone. Some 700,000 visitors make their way to the New Year Eve Trail starting at City Hall Square, it winds its way through the narrow streets of the historic city center. Many hotels, taverns have special events for this evening. The best known is the Imperial Ball 2008 which takes place at the Imperial Palace/Homburg.
